Lakeland Miniature Village

Visit Lakeland in a day! Visit Cumbria's only miniature village - Over 100 buildings made from local Coniston slate, hand made by Edward Robinson. Houses, farms and barns, down to tiny wishing wells create the Lakeland landscape, half-timbered period houses and local architecture all faithfully reproduced. Many of the houses, farms and barns found in the Lake District have been converted to other uses, Edward Robinson gives you a unique insight of what Lakeland buildings used to look like. The miniature village is situated in the village of Flookburgh, famous for the Morecambe Bay shrimps, also near, is Grange-over-Sands known to the early Victorian tourist as the 'Lancashire Riviera' because of the mild climate. Edward Robinson's miniature village is an on going project, there is much more work to commence over the next few years. Slate was the principal building stone of the Lake District and can be seen on many of the farm houses, farm buildings and field walls in the area.
